5 Ways to Increase Your Energy

Family, work, chores, pets, social events. Life is busy, and you need all the energy you can muster to get through the day without feeling low and exhausted. If you’re feeling like you need an energy boost, you’ve come to the right place. Thankfully, there are lots of things you can do to boost your energy levels and feel like every day is less of a struggle. Here are some tips on increasing that much needed energy.

Eat More Veggies

It’s not surprising that only half of us are getting half of the nutrients we need to keep our energy levels up. Finding ways of implementing more fruit and vegetables into your diet will dramatically improve how you feel. If you find it difficult to add more veg to your meals, why not consider juicing. There are some fantastic recipes for vegetable juices and once you’ve had your juice every day, you can completely forget about whether you’ve had your 5 a day.

Most people would assume that exercise will decrease energy levels. After all, you have to use energy while exercising. However, it has the exact opposite effect. Light exercise will actually increase your energy levels. It helps to stimulate you mind and body, so many people often feel refreshed after exercise. If you’re looking to bulk up, the ingredients in steroid alternatives may not help your energy levels. Exercise is great to do first thing in the morning. It could just give you the boost you need to kick start your day.

Reduce Your Carbs

Simple carbs are a temporary high. Although they will provide you with a quick energy boost, your body will quickly burn them away. You can find carbs in things like white bread, pasta, cookies and sugary drinks. When you really need an energy boost that lasts, take the carbohydrates out of the equation. If you want a boost in the afternoon, why not consider making yourself a fruit smoothie with chia seeds? Chia seeds are full of essential fatty acids, like Omega 3 and 6, and they’re full of protein and fibre.

Drink Plenty

When your body hasn’t got enough water in it, it gets tired. In fact, that’s usually the first sign of dehydration. Two litres of water per day may sound like a lot, but it’s only the equivalent of eight glasses of water. If you start drinking first thing in morning and an hour before you go to bed, it won’t seem like a lot.

Vitamin B

Taking a good multi-vitamin will ensure you cover all areas of your health, along with a balanced diet. But, when it comes to your energy levels, no vitamin will be better than vitamin B. Vitamin B12 to be specific. It’s a water-soluble vitamin, so it’s common for people to have deficiencies. Taking a B12 supplement will mean you don’t have to worry too much about making sure it’s constantly in your diet.

Boosting your energy won’t just mean you aren’t as tired, it will mean you’ll get to enjoy life to the fullest.
