New Car Update & The Attention to Detail

If you follow me on social media, or know me in person, you’ll know I’ve been babbling on about my new car for a while now. I’ve been driving ever since I was 17 (I’m 25 now), and in that time I’ve only ever had three cars; a Renault Clio and a Renault Megane, the latter only lasting four months, but this is the first time I’ve actually been proud of the car I own and can’t stop looking at it, cleaning it and driving it!

It’s an Alfa Romeo Giulietta if you’re interested. I’d driven one before for a month a couple of years ago, and apart from breaking down on the M6 (on a Bank Holiday too 🙄), it was the nicest car I’ve had the pleasure of driving, so I had to get one for myself. I have to say, it’s the best decision I’ve made to date.

So, with that in mind, it’s only right to care about the attention to detail, and look after it the right way. Below are some of my own tips for looking after your car:

Car Servicing

Servicing my car is something I’ve always seen as a chore with my previous cars. However, finally being proud of the one I have now means looking after things like wheel alignment, suspension, exhausts and brakes is something I actually want to do, in the same way as I’d look after myself.

This can be pretty easy too, there’s loads of websites out there to find local spots to do this, and easy enough to do a bit of research too in to whether it actually needs servicing or not. You can reserve your car servicing online in London from DatTyres today and increase your vehicle’s efficiency.

Tyre Pressures

I know tyre pressures are pretty important to driving, but I didn’t know there was a difference in tyre pressures depending on where the majority of your driving is. Most of my driving is on the motorway, and after years of driving I didn’t know there’s a different pressure for this kind of driving. After a bit of research and checking out the driver’s handbook (yeah I actually read this), I changed my tyre pressures for the motorway and it actually makes a big difference, a smoother drive and feels steadier on the wheel at speed. Who knew ey.

Cleaning

I won’t lie, I’ve been a bit lazy with cleaning my car in the past, I just found it a bit pointless to spend hours cleaning it for it to be shat on by birds or mucked up by countryside driving. I’ve actually started to enjoy the process of cleaning a car and the feelings once it’s finished and sparkling in the sun is so worth it.

I’m not just talking about giving it the once over with the hose either, there’s actually so many different types of products out there, with different ingredients that work in different ways. My favourites to recommend would probably be Auto Finesse who do a great selection of kits for everything from season specials to protection kits.
