If you’ve been on Twitter lately, you’ll know that everyone’s pretty much written off Summer and looking ahead to the Autumn months (we still have 2 weeks left of Summer though guys), which means it’s time to look at Autumn fashion. This is a bit of a difficult transition, as it either means dusting off the old jackets and jumpers, or clear out the whole wardrobe and start fresh. I’ll opt for the second choice…
Knitwear
You can’t hide away from it, knitwear is everywhere through the Autumn/Winter season and it’s a staple item for any Male wardrobe. It’s not too early to think about Knitwear and House of Fraser are smashing it with the choice for AW16.
I prefer a crew neck jumper, as opposed to roll neck or v neck, with the Peter Werth Copen brushed wool collection standing out for me. In a variety of 3 colours, brown, silver and navy blue, these are a tight fitting and would look great either on their own or with a slim fit shirt underneath.
Shirts
Shirts aren’t just an Autumn/Winter thing, but they’re a great thing to have as they can be styled out casual smart either under knitwear or on their own with a bulky jacket. Anyone who knows me will know I love the Farah collection. These are a great fit and are quite long for the tall man. I go for the slim fit brewer shirts and for the price they’re a great quality and wash well.
Must have Autumn colours for me are Bordeaux (a burgundy red), sky blue and evergreen, very neutral colours that can be worn in combo with a variety of jackets and knitwear.
Jackets
I feel with Jackets it’s better to invest in a proper quality which will last you for years, rather than a cheap one to get you through the months, which I keep dusting down this time of year. My personal favourite is the Penfield hooded mountain parka in tan, which is a great quality for it’s price and gets you through those cold midwinter Tuesday night matches where you can’t feel anything by the final whistle.
Penfield hooded mountain parkas come in a variety of colours so if you’re a bit more colourful than me in the AW months then try out the red or yellow versions which can be styled out nicely with some dark jeans and shoes.
Shoes
The main thing for me this season is to get out of trainers (or at least when I need smartening up a bit), so on my wish-list for this year is a pair of desert boots, in either brown or navy blue. These are the perfect shoes for any smart casual date night or meal out, which i’ve mentioned previously on my blog is something I struggle to deal with.
Top of my wanted list is this pair of brown suede desert boots from ASOS, with the lighter lace to add something extra, making them stand out a bit more than the all black or blue pairs. I think these would look great with a dark blue pair of skinny jeans and the finishing piece for the above mentioned outfit choices.

So, what’s on your Autumn fashion wish-list? I’d love to hear what your top trends are.
Good list, I’ve been meaning to get myself a good pair of desert boots lately, I’ll get there eventually aha
Aha i’m the same, it’s a must have for this season. Thanks for reading!
